I've never reviewed anything publicly before, but I honestly feel that me doing so here is not only deserved but necessary, as I've just learned the value of seeking a 2nd opinion. I recently took my rather expensive gaming laptop to a local repair shop as it would no longer boot up. I was somewhat surprised to be told later that day, that the little more than 3yr old machine was pretty much a write off. The gentleman informed me that he had tested the machine and found that the motherboard had failed. When I asked, I was told that he couldn't determine exactly where the failure was on the motherboard, but my options at this point were pretty much either replacing the machine, or returning it to the manufacturer. I did check this later and would have been a little over £1,200. When I pressed him on the possibility of a replacement part, he said he could replace the motherboard if I could find one, but he wouldn't recommend it as being worthwhile. Rather shell shocked I thanked the gentleman for his time and left, but not before having to ask if I could have the machine back. It felt a little odd to just leave it there, even if it was useless at this point, and he duly retrieved it for me when asked. Some time later I found that the former PCSimple in Sheringham was now Fortify247 Ltd in West Runton, so I decided to seek a 2nd opinion from them and spoke with Clive. To my astonishment, within just ten minutes of leaving the machine with him, he had diagnosed the issue as faulty RAM. By the next day, I had my machine back in perfect working order, and the cost was a fraction of what was quoted by the manufacturer or would have been for a replacement. I was both impressed that Clive could identify the issue so swiftly, and stunned that I'd received such a drastically different diagnosis elsewhere. He was happy to take the time to explain what he'd done, and my options for the repair of the machine before he carried out the work. I'm exceedingly grateful to Clive and his team for their excellent and transparent service, and would wholeheartedly recommend anyone in the area speak with them if you have any issues, both new or old!

Around 6 months ago one of my business laptops failed, as did all usual attempts to get it working again. I was faced with the difficult decision of whether to replace it or seek more expert advise to repair it.
Fortify247 Ltd's expertise meant that they soon advised me what the problem was and suggested a possible fix, although they did emphasise that it may not work for long. We duely decided to try the repair, and are so pleased we did as it is working well and has allowed us to invest in other areas of our business in the meantime.
His work merits a testimonial because they were honest - they did say it might not work but didn't simply try to sell me a new computer. They also charged a very reasonable fee to fix it, with the option of a fee-free fix if it didn't work in the short term.
For someone who doesn't like IT problems, they have given me the reassurance that there's someone I can trust to help.

The supply of consumables for the equipment that fortify247 Ltd previously supplied, the transfer of some precious memories onto DVD and the home care service provided recently when I was let loose on the laptop! I signed up to Fortify Ltd's homecall service on much the same basis as insurance in that it is something you hope you never need. However having a couple of serious issues with my laptop in the last 6 months it was great to be able to contact Clive and in most cases he was able to resolve the issue there & then by remotely accessing my laptop. It is reassuring to know that he is always available to help you out when you really need him.
I will certainly be continuing to use Fortify247 Ltd's housecall service & would gladly recommend it to anyone with a laptop or computer.

Recently I have had several issues with my work PC, resulting in some serious down-time where I was unable to produce any work whatsoever.
After several hours of me trying to fix the problems myself, I finally called Clive in desperation, whereupon he stopped whatever he was doing, logged into my PC and spent the next hour, or more, correcting what needed to be corrected.
I called him several times after that, for printer problems, (my computer is playing up badly) and each time they have been sorted out with no fuss, just in, done and out (of my PC, remotely).
I absolutely recommend Fortify247 Ltd's Remote Housecall service, for anyone who is dependant on their computer for business production, I personally could not do without it.

Fortify247 Ltd recently supplied us with a newer desktop in order to accommodate Windows 7. We just had to reconnect all the wires. They told me that computers are no trouble, people are - and we certainly were! We got in such a muddle we called them (several times) for help. The broadband router then went on a go-slow and I gave up and called them again, somewhat sheepishly!
I am now a convert to PCInstantHouseCall! They sorted out everything so now it is working perfectly and 1 love having such professional (and very patient) back-up.
I did wonder if they could rewire our brains to understand these technological panics but maybe that is something for Fortify247 Ltd to work on later.
